About Kennedy Meadows

Kennedy Meadows is a small mountain community located in the Eastern Sierra Nevadas in Tulare County, at approximately 6500' elevation.  It is an entry point into the South Sierra Wilderness, and the Sequoia National Forest.

The Pacific Crest Trail runs through Kennedy Meadows, and there are several local businesses that serve as resupply points for hikers on the trail.  It was featured in Cheryl Strayed's book "Wild", and in the movie made from the book.

The south fork of the Kern River runs through Kennedy Meadows, and it is a jumping off point for hunters, hikers, and fishermen coming up from the 395 highway which is approximately 25 miles to the east.

Come visit us, explore the area and stay at the nearby Kennedy Meadows Campground or any of the other many great area camp grounds.
